The McCain - Palin ticket is an anomaly to say the least. McCain reportedly met the Governor of Alaska (elected in 2006) only once before it was announced that she would in fact become his running mate. These two are so big on "family values", yet Palin's 17 year old daughter is now pregnant (and unmarried). So it makes things very confusing and wreaking of hypocrisy when the whole abstinence-only agenda has seemingly blown up in their faces. How do you spin this story? I honestly don't think you can. Part of Palin's very strong political agenda is bent on removing women's rights to have abortions. It's staggering that we're even still debating this issue in the 2008.
I read today that the Right has asked that the public and the press give the family some space and privacy during this time.
Give me a fuck'n break!

ok, I see the approval notification and now understand what I'm doing here, anyhoo...
Great blogging.
There is one issue that none of the top tier politicians in the United States will speak about.
It is the issue that is destroying the USA from within, and all the other rehashed jargon - welfare, abortion, war, healthcare, gender/racial equality - is kept on the table as an immense filibuster to keep the common unitiated American who doesn't like to research anything political beyond what their TV remote delivers unto them from discovering the truth about how real power operates not just in America, but the entire civilized world.
What is the issue? Monetary Policy!
The latest financial plague that plays out in the national media is the collape of the housing industry.
Roughly 3 years ago the Federal Reserve Bank lowered mortgage interest rates to a point that enticed many an irresposible lendee looking for a quick solution to alleviate their burgeoning debts, be it credit cards, car loans, or a hideous mortgage deal. For whatever thier reason, many people needed debt relief. Low interest rates allowed many folks to rollover credit card debt and such into new lower rate mortgages.
On the other side many greedy bank lenders siezed this as an opportunity to sign new customers in bulk. Some were new to the game, others repeat offenders, but what was being touted as a "relief" package wound up being a "release" package as in "release the hounds".
Don't get me wrong, I do not consider myself a fiscal genious. I am not wealthy, yet, but I also don't have ridiculous debt hanging over me. On the contrary, I observe more every day a serious apathy regarding spending habits, as if there will always be a way to survive, even if it means borrowing, or perhaps burrowing.
I am rambling here so I will try and skip to the point....
3 years later huge mortgage lenders like Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae have lost 90% of their value due to fear of overly risky lending to folks who can't repay their loans.
They are being bailed out by the US Government. I would describe it as a hostile takeover, not by wealth (directly) or a gun, but by the law of the land and the ones who create them.
What is never mentioned in the media is the involvement of the larger banks that the government relies on to do bailing. The banks are the ones with the money. We have no money and are actually in the midst of a huge deficit.
Now, I am not here to personally name names such as the Bushes, Cheneys, Rockefellers, Rothschields, Morgans, Bilderburgers, and such, you know, the ones who actually have money, but I would like to point out that government is comprised of people, not robots or computers (aliens?.... maybe), but actual people who are put into power to make these decisions using the donations of wealthy folks who benefit from said decisions.
But a lot of people don't get it. They think that government is a mystical entity that governs the people under an illusionary fairness doctrine that will protect their ability to strive and prosper. In some ways this is true, on our consumer, worker lifestyle level. The game is pretty fair here, besides the fact that those on the producer, decision maker lifestyle level are well aware of the power they wield and attept to solidify and strenghten it in various ways, one of which being the devaluation of the dollar via targeted bank runs and bankruptcy buy-outs. What this does is put the power in fewer and fewer hands as those who fail are bumped out in favor of those who can afford to stay in the game, and believe me, they can afford to do it for a very long time.
I haven't even touched upon oil, but that can be summed up as well as being a currency which may also be devalued at the will of those who create it forcing it into fewer hands of power.
So, to me the entire Palin move is an attempt to add yet another distraction to divert focus away from the important issues, and sadly the average audience never understands this as the hired talking heads keep it simplistic and entertaining to fault. It's as if the reality of it is so bad that if the truth be known a riot would ensue, and somehow it is disguised to where it's impossible to understand. And perhaps that is why ignorance is bliss, although I hate tacky cliche's.
