cool rants
We have entered an age where absolutely nothing is sacred anymore, least of which the sanctity of vocabulary.
I was watching a political forum on Canada and it's position in the world of arms. Someone on the panel started going on about the "weaponization of space", which set me wondering...when did "weaponization" become a word? I looked this up on the ever savvy internet and found out that this is a "buzzword" that was created by the military, which signifies a lot but actually means nothing.
Last night on the Daily Show, Jon told us about the NewYork Post headlining a story about Mayor Michael Bloomberg being sent to Israel on behalf of the Bush administration to open a museum commemorating World War II. This is how it read:
"Mike's H'caust honor, in Israel for Bush"...When did it become acceptable for a journalist to abbreviate the Holocaust and reduce it's honor and memory to a rap or a sentence that's completely derogatory?
